We’re looking for a R&D Chef to be the newest member of a team that is transforming the restaurant industry. At Salted, we’re building the next generation of fast food / fast casual brands all across the country, with a focus on better-for-you cuisine. Our food is gluten-free, clean-label, and plant-driven, but most importantly, highly craveable and delicious - the type of food you want to tell your friends about. If you are detail-oriented, passionate, and want to help shape the culinary program for the brands of tomorrow, then we want to hear from you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this position, you’ll be asked to wear many hats, but most fundamentally, you will help drive culinary excellence for our brands across the country.
Work alongside our Senior R&D Chef to develop new recipes that meet our high standards of quality, nutrition, and scaleability
Identify opportunities to improve our existing recipes for increased consistency and cost savings
Collaborate with our Operations team to create training programs that ensure the scaleability and consistency of our recipes
Collaborate with our Operations team to source ingredients and products necessary for the execution and national scaleability of our recipes
Conduct regular tastings with our CEO and Brands team that include the presentation of detailed cost and nutritional information
Participate in the development of recipes intended to become CPG products and produced in third-party co-manufacturing facilities, including shelf-life and yield analysis
Track and analyze the vast customer feedback and performance data available at Salted and use this data to inform our culinary roadmap
Maintain the accuracy of our nutrition and food cost databases
Think outside the box and help us create better-for-you foods that “wow!”
WHO YOU ARE
The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, has a deep understanding for the complexities of scaling recipes to hundreds of locations, is comfortable working in a fast-changing environment, and has an unquenchable thirst to create food that impacts millions of people’s lives.
Highly organized and able to juggle multiple tasks at once
Skilled problem solver with the ability to research and execute solutions
Highly creative with a desire to think “outside the box”
2+ years experience working in a culinary (restaurants, catering, CPG, R&D) position
Mastery of foundational culinary skills (knife work, flavor profiles, health and sanitation standards)
Big plus if you have experience working with gluten-free and plant-based ingredients
Knowledge of HACCP, SOP’s, and government/industry food safety and quality regulations, codes, and standards
Ability to collaborate with other departments, proactively identify problems/opportunities, and take ownership of deadlines and deliverables
Wants to work in an extremely fast paced, data-driven environment with ambitious goals

We build, own and operate better-for-you restaurant brands that define how a new generation of customers want to eat.
We’re looking for a Head of Brand Marketing who will lead the charge as we turn our brands into household names. The right candidate is a passionate builder, a problem solver, a big thinker, and someone who has a pulse for how brands win their way into not only the culture zeitgeist, but the hearts and minds of customers.
Responsibilities:
Lead the identity development and storytelling behind our brands, with a primary focus on our flagship brand, moonbowls.
Ensure the consistency of our brand messaging and value proposition across all customer touchpoints.
Work closely with the CEO and R&D team to guide our culinary roadmap from a brand and market opportunity perspective (eg, How do we best reflect our brand values in our culinary offerings? What are the culinary and cultural trends that map to our brand values and should be on our roadmap?)
Develop and manage a holistic strategy for introducing our brands into new markets, including social media and community outreach.
Develop high ROI opportunities to collaborate with digital influencers and build community engagement.
Direct the editorial strategy across all brand channels, creating a cohesive narrative that boosts community interaction and achieves sales targets. (You will collaborate with a marketing team that is responsible for the actual deployment and management of our lifecycle marketing campaigns across email and text channels.)
Oversee the external brand communications strategy, shaping public perception with general and targeted media outlets
Develop and manage a program of focus groups such that we are talking to our customers regularly and incorporating their feedback into brand and culinary roadmaps.
Partner directly with the CEO on high-level strategic planning and thought leadership initiatives.
Requirements:
Track record of making brands pop.
Builder mentality with a deep passion for storytelling.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Deep understanding of customer behavior, cultural trends, and storytelling across paid, owned, and earned channels.
Demonstrated success launching breakthrough campaigns, driving revenue growth, and building brand equity.
Experience managing teams and working collaboratively across an organization.
Experience working at a high growth company is a big plus.
Based in LA area (or willing to relocate).
Salary Range:
$150k-$220k

Qualifications:
5 –15 years of experience in People Operations, specializing in building high-performing teams of field employees. Experience in the culinary or hospitality industries is highly preferred.
Proven track record of implementing successful training and development programs, with multiple examples demonstrating a positive impact on employee performance, retention, and organizational goals.
A strong vision and innovative ideas for building exceptional teams, organizations, and workplace cultures.
Results-driven and high-achieving, with a strong commitment to excellence

Salary Range: $150 – $200,000
