    Your Impact

    As the Director/VP of Finance, you will:

    • Oversee the Financial department at Salted, including Accounting, FPA, and compliance

    • Be the voice of the company to drive strong financial performance across the organization, while maintaining an understanding of the factors that ensure a great customer experience

    • Develop reporting processes to accurately track revenue, labor spend, food and pack spend, and recruiting costs, for 100+ independent locations

    • Manage outsourced accounting team to ensure a timely close process and accurate financial reporting.

    • Develop robust models to guide both long-term resource planning as well as goal setting at both the corporate level and for individual kitchen performance

    • Build strong control mechanisms to enable strong independent decision-making for corporate teams and Kitchen Managers

    • Work directly with the executive team to steer strategic decision-making at the company

    • Build a world-class finance function that sets the table for Salted to be a public company

    Skills & Experience

    • Track record of successful experience managing financial programs and processes – (5 – 15 years experience).

    • Experience working in retail, food, hospitality, or other industry that is customer-facing with physical operations

    • Able to work in a start-up environment, with a strong understanding of prioritization and the ability to focus on key drivers of performance

    • Proven experience as a leader who can earn the trust of teams across the organization

    • Extremely proactive with the ability to independently drive results and communicate a long-term vision

    • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, ability to work quickly & cross-functionally on ambiguous problems

    Salary Range

    $140,000 to $250,000/ annually. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

  • WHO WE ARE

    We’re looking for a Director of Culinary Excellence to be the newest member of a team that is transforming the restaurant industry. At Salted, we’re building the next generation of fast-casual brands all across the country, with a focus on better-for-you cuisine that's delivery and take-out only.     WHAT YOU’LL DO

    In this position, you will play a key role in driving culinary excellence at our kitchens across the country.

    Key responsibilities:

    Innovation and Planning

    • Provide vision for ongoing culinary development.

    • Collaborate with our Senior R&D chef to introduce new items to existing brand menus and develop new brands from scratch.

    • Spearhead the rollout of new licensed brands that we introduce to our kitchens, ensuring these brands are properly integrated into our existing training materials, tools, and kitchen operations.

    • Research and stay current with supplier opportunities to reduce costs and improve the quality of ingredients.

    • Collaborate with our Operations team to manage supply chain challenges and opportunities.

    • Collaborate with our Senior R&D Chef and marketing team to develop culinary initiatives that align with business goals, market trends, and customer preferences.

    Development and Training

    • Develop strategies to simplify and improve our culinary operations.

    • Manage the quality and consistency of our culinary documentation and supporting tools that are used to train kitchen team members.

    • Collaborate with key Operations team members to ensure the correct training materials are always in place and used as intended.

    • Solicit and incorporate feedback from kitchen team members to constantly improve our training materials and tools.

    • Collaborate with our Senior R&D Chef to optimize recipes, yields, and portion sizes to maintain consistency across our backend recipe management and ordering systems.

    Quality Assurance

    • Provide culinary guidance and support to Kitchen Managers and Area Operation Managers across the country.

    • Oversee a team of Culinary Excellence Managers specifically tasked with ensuring our culinary standards are met on a day-to-day basis.

    • Conduct regular quality checks, remotely and occasionally in person, to ensure adherence to established recipes and standards.

    • Address any issues related to food quality, taste, or presentation promptly, and work with Kitchen Managers, Area Operation Managers, and Culinary Excellence Managers to take the appropriate action.

    WHO YOU ARE

    The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, has a deep understanding of the complexities of scaling quality and consistency across hundreds of locations, is comfortable working in a fast-changing environment, and has an unquenchable thirst to create food that impacts millions of people’s lives.

    • Highly organized and able to juggle multiple tasks with changing priorities.

    • 5+ years experience working in the QSR or fast food industry in a culinary role (eg, R&D, training/development, project management).

    • Deep understanding of the inner workings of a fast-paced kitchen environment and the necessary controls to ensure quality at scale.

    • Knowledge of HACCP, SOPs, and government/industry food safety and quality regulations, codes, and standards.

    • Ability to collaborate with other departments, proactively identify problems/opportunities, and take ownership of deadlines and deliverables.

    • Wants to work in an extremely fast-paced, data-driven environment with ambitious goals.

    • Must be based in the Los Angeles area with the ability to commute to local kitchens and the flexibility to travel to kitchens around the US.

    • In this position you will play a central role ensuring culinary excellence at Salted and the brands that we operate in cities across the country.

    • Routinely visit kitchens to observe, train, and enforce culinary standards and compliance

    • Work hands-on with kitchen teams as a part of new location openings and new brand launches

    • Elevate and enforce our culture of culinary excellence for all Salted brands

    • Develop new training programs to ensure the consistency, or "spec", of all food leaving our kitchens across the country

    • Collaborate with Area Directors and location General Managers to understand and troubleshoot problems faced by kitchen teams that lead to instances of non-spec food

    What You'll Do

    In this position, you will play a central role in ensuring culinary excellence at Salted, and the brands that we operate in cities across the country.

    • Ensure that training materials, including job aids, training programs, and e-learning are current, accurate, and effective.

    • Elevate and enforce our culture of culinary excellence for all Salted brands.

    Who You Are

    • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.

    • 3+ years in restaurant training: culinary training, new restaurant openings, leadership development, and/or “train the trainer” programs.

    • Extremely detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-changing environment, and committed to excellence and high standards.

    • Excellent communication and the ability to provide direct and concise feedback to trainees and management.

    • Self-motivated and ambitious, with a track record of accomplishment in every role they have taken on.

  • We’re looking for a Finance Manager to join a small team that is building the future of the restaurant industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working individual that is detail-oriented and analytical to be the financial heartbeat of a fast-growing start-up.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    In this position you will be asked to wear many hats. In the short-term this individual will take on accounting and financial responsibilities. Over time, you will have the opportunity to increasingly specialize as you see fit.

    • Manage daily/weekly/monthly/annual accounting processes.

    • Build financial processes and systems

    • Analyze performance data to develop recommendations that will impact all components of the business such as marketing spend, pricing, operational output, and sourcing.

    • Work closely with COO and CFO to perform financial planning and analysis.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    In this position, you’ll be given the opportunity to play a critical role on our marketing team as we turn our brands into household names across the country. We’re looking for someone who thinks big, loves solving problems, and thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

    • Identify opportunities to drive top line revenue growth and customer awareness across our existing portfolio of brands

    • Conduct ongoing A/B tests of our menus on various third party marketplaces, such as UberEats and DoorDash, to optimize impressions and conversion rates

    • Participate in the creation of new brands and new menu items based on cuisine trends and customer insights

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with our Operations and Marketing teams on the roll out (and subsequent measurement / analysis) of new menu items and brands

    • Surface relevant data to empower and improve efficiencies within our Marketing, Customer Support, and Culinary teams

    • Participate in the management of paid and earned media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, and 3rd party delivery partners (eg, UberEats, DoorDash)

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    In this position, you’ll be asked to wear many hats, but most fundamentally, you will help drive culinary excellence for our brands across the country.

    • Work alongside our Senior R&D Chef to develop new recipes that meet our high standards of quality, nutrition, and scaleability

    • Identify opportunities to improve our existing recipes for increased consistency and cost savings

    • Collaborate with our Operations team to create training programs that ensure the scaleability and consistency of our recipes

    • Collaborate with our Operations team to source ingredients and products necessary for the execution and national scaleability of our recipes

    • Conduct regular tastings with our CEO and Brands team that include the presentation of detailed cost and nutritional information

    • Participate in the development of recipes intended to become CPG products and produced in third-party co-manufacturing facilities, including shelf-life and yield analysis

    • Track and analyze the vast customer feedback and performance data available at Salted and use this data to inform our culinary roadmap

    • Maintain the accuracy of our nutrition and food cost databases

    As the Regional Director, you will:
